BNFL’s Board of Directors contains a wealth of experience from both inside and outside industry.

Gordon Campbell, Chairman
Gordon took over the Chairmanship on 1st June 2004. He is part-time Chairman of Babcock International Group plc and former Chief Executive of Courtaulds plc. Gordon is also a Vice-President of the Royal Academy of Engineering and Non-Executive Chairman of ITI Scotland.

He has Non-Executive Directorships at Jupiter Split Trust plc and Senior plc. Gordon is also a member of the British Heart Foundation Council as well as a Companion of the British Institute of Management. He continues to be a visiting professor at Strathclyde University.

Michael Parker, Group Chief Executive
Mike was President and Chief Executive Officer of The Dow Chemical Company in Midland, Michigan, USA from November 2000 to December 2002. He had been a member of the Board of Directors of Dow since 1995.

Currently, Mike serves on the Board of Directors of the National Legal Center for Public Interest in America. Mike and his wife, Noreen, have two children.

David Bonser, BNFL Group HR Director
David was appointed to the Board on 30 September 1999, having joined BNFL in 1971. Prior to his current position, he was a Director of Thorp, Company Development and Engineering, Waste Management and Decommissioning.

He is a member of the Government’s Radioactive Waste Management Advisory Committee (RWMAC) and was Chairman of UK Nirex until December 2001.

John Edwards, Group Finance Director
John joined the Board on 1 July 2000. He is the former Finance Director of Jaguar, Northern Electric and Meyer International plc. He is the Chairman of Magnox Electric plc and BNFL’s Investment Review Panel.Non-Executive Directors

Joe Darby, Non-Executive Director
Joe joined the Board on 23 January 2002. He was previously CEO and, subsequently, Deputy Chairman of LASMO plc. Joe is a non-Executive Director of John Mowlem & Company plc, the UK construction services company. He is also a Fellow of the Institute of Petroleum.

Bill Lowther CBE, Non-Executive Director
Bill joined the Board on 1 August 2000. He was Director General of Surface Specialties plc (UCB Films plc) until his retirement in 2002, when he was appointed Non-Executive Chairman.

Since 1998, Bill has been a member of the North West Business Leadership Team. He is Chairman of the Cumbria Strategic Partnership and Deputy Chairman of Securency Pty. Ltd.

Michael Pavia, Non-Executive Director
Michael joined the Board on 1 April 2005 as Non-Executive Director and Chairman of the Audit Committee. He was previously Chief Financial Officer of EDF Energy plc (London Electricity), Finance Director of SEEBOARD plc and Finance Director of LASMO plc. He is a chartered accountant and a member of the Council of the ICAEW.
